Origin, climate and energy, this 16th Colloquium kept all its promises by breaking attendance records. From November 10 to 14, 2014, more than 20,000 enthusiasts were able to attend with fascination and wonder the conferences that took place at the University of Geneva as well as the magnificent light show projected on the buildings from the Bastions park.

Origin, climate and energy, this 16th Colloquium kept all its promises by breaking attendance records. From November 10 to 14, 2014, more than 20,000 enthusiasts were able to attend with fascination and wonder the conferences that took place at the University of Geneva as well as the magnificent light show projected on the buildings from the Bastions park.
The Wright Foundation dedicated the 2014 edition of the Wright colloquia to the Sun by giving the floor to astrophysicists, climatologists and chemists. From November 10 to 14, 2014, four conferences allowed a better understanding of our Sun by covering themes such as ‘We, children of the stars’, ‘Journey to the center of the Sun’ or ‘Solar cycles and global warming’.
Beyond an unlimited fascination for the beauty of our star in perpetual activity, more than 20,000 spectators were able to discover its essential role in the construction of our system: without a star, no planets. Without the Sun, without its formation 4.5 billion years ago, neither the Earth nor the seven other planets in our system would have seen the light of day.
